1 John1 2:1, 2. “But if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the just: and He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.” It is only through the same merits of Jesus Christ, that the just man can obtain either an increase of holiness in this life, or eternal happiness in the next. John 15:5. “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.”
